The Peace Concert and Fair tok place at Charleville Castle on the June Bank Holiday Week-end.
Energy, Movement and Dance - everyone involved and performing.
But we promise you that we are doing our utmost to make the next Peace Concert the most magical and spiritual event ever at Charleville Castle.
It will be very different but very important, we are a part of an international movement of over 3,500 organisations pressing for a Global Ceasefire Day to coincide with the International Day of Peace on September 21st 2008. So we want the message to go out to all governments, your message. Your message as expressed to us at Quest - Charleville Castle. Climate Change has suddenly gained acceptance. Our governments are asking us all to do what we can to turn the situation around over the coming 10 years. But we all agree, the World is not geared for collaboration between people and governments - People are still separated by borders and cultural norms - war remains the ultimate means of winning arguments or forcing change - but we are saying "not in our name" - Anti-war movements are growing rapidly. But we say that we cannot fight war - we can go much further and better by putting the word "Peace" on the tip of the tongue of everyone everywhere - we must be active builders of a Global and Local Culture of Peace. Here at Charleville Castle, the People's Castle, we, the volunteers and members, are totally and fully behind these views and support these goals. When we gather, we can gather to have fun, to dance to great music - but we can also make Peace our central purpose for gathering - this will further the Culture Of Peace.

The pictures and stories of the huge slaughter of humans, and all life-forms, in the 20th Century World Wars, horrify us. We reject any path that will lead us down that road again. We are not saying “Peace At All Costs” – we are saying that wars create new wars and the trends increase until we are terrified by huge unfathomable wars that surpass the bounds of the imagination and, only then, force the War Lords to step back and think. We are saying “not in our names you don’t” – we know that we must set out to do what we can to put the positive idea of Peace on the top of the agenda of all people. The threat to Peace through the growth of poverty and discrimination is not acceptable “not in our name”. The threat to Peace through the use of military might to force change upon people is not acceptable “not in our name”. We will start where we can – gathering, sharing, discussing, getting involved, making the vision of great and noble Worldwide change possible without war – making this the most plausible way forward. What good are solutions to Climate Change if it costs the lives of millions and billions suffer in the process? The politician who say that war is inevitable, the politicians who say that no change will come Globally without military struggle – the politicians who do not understand that Peace is at the centre of the Climate Change Challenge – these politicians are the ones out of touch with reality, these are the politicians who can’t count – already we are seeing the military capacities grow, we are receiving hints of future large scale wars over "who should do what and when". It is plain to see that we are in a new age created by new and unprecedented challenges. - Where we are now no one has ever been before. We must ourselves become involved. So we must create new Peace Gatherings where we can talk about, sing about and dance about “what we can do together to put Peace on the "tip of the tongue" of all people, to anchor a solid believe in Peace as the way forward in the souls of all around us and further afield and we must see people who chose war, people everywhere who choose war, as a possible way to create change as people already lost in the past.
